The Πτηνος is a High-Gain Distortion pedal that will put a certain black-and-orange monstrosity to shame. Its name comes from the Greek ptene, meaning “wing.” This term was used to describe early oxides containing osmium, the heaviest metal in the known universe.

The Πτηνος High-Gain Distortion gets its sound from cascading MOSFETS. These transistors are known for their extreme clarity and tube-like response. There is also a germanium gate circuit, which can be adjusted via an internal trimpot.
