Fender Custom Shop 1964 Jazz Bass Journeyman Relic Super Faded Aged 3-Tone Sunburst

Bass players know that the Fender Custom Shop makes some of the world's greatest basses, and this '64 Jazz Bass shows why!

For this one, we went with the classic 3-Tone Sunburst, but asked for the "Super Faded Aged" treatment to give it a real vintage vibe.  We've done this before, and love how it comes out.  The sunburst is toned down a bit, and faded to a subdued and classic look.  For the finish package, we went with Journeyman Relic - it has the appearance of a bass that was cared for but played extensively for years.  You'll see finish checking, small dings and scratches, but not anything seriously worn or beat up.  To further the vintage vibe, we also asked for a Heavy Relic treatment to the back of the neck, with much of the finish removed.  This gives you a truly broken in feel, making this bass an absolute pleasure to play.

Two Custom Shop Handwound Vintage Jazz single-coil pickups are wired to individual volume controls for a variety of tones from classic Jazz Bass growl, to funky slap, to more aggressive modern sounds. The rock solid quartersawn maple neck is topped off with a nice dark rosewood board, and a 7.25" radius for a vintage feel, but a bit easier to play with medium jumbo frets.

The bass comes with the bridge and pickup covers installed, which of course can be removed (if you'd like us to do so, that's no problem).  It includes a vintage style Deluxe hardshell case, strap and Certificate of Authenticity.
