The bass plays amazing well - it's smooth, and of course sounds great, providing the classic P bass sound thanks to it's vintage-spec pickup.  The modernized neck (flatter compound radius, narrow tall frets) adds a great playability, and the high mass bridge supplies improved sustain and tone.  So, you get a classic sound, enhanced with modern features, and of course an amazing aesthetic.
