The Mark Sampson era for Matchless what the Leo Fender era is to Fender. Here's this Matchless Chieftain, a prime reason Matchless became a boutique amp favorite amongst many guitarists.  Rarely seen, especially of this age in such good condition, this is a serious score.

The Chieftan is a powerful EL-34 amp that delivers huge tone all pumping through a single 12" speaker.  It gives you ample amounts of crunchy gain but also has exceptional headroom for cleans that sparkle. This 40-watt powerhouse has plenty of tone for any playing situation and features intuitive controls. You get a 3-Band EQ with a Master Volume, Volume, and Reverb. This gives you plenty of versatility.

This single channel amp is the peak of performance and tone and is a complete hand-built point to point powerhouse. With its 12" speaker and slighter larger cabinet you get the full impact and tone of this powerful amp.

This exquisite piece is in good condition.  The amp just came in, and we had it vetted and serviced by our amp tech, so it's ready to go.  We've seen other Chieftans from this era but not in Red Sparkle - and it's sure to go quick.
