Pre Owned Fender International Series Telecaster Sahara Taupe with Case

During Fender's incredibly long and storied history, certain groups of guitars have become cult favorites - this includes the early 80's run known as the International Series.  Fender introduced them in late 1980 / early 1981, and only did them for a year or two.  Guitars and basses were made in 9 different finishes, some of which have never been repeated by Fender.  Included in that is this one - Sahara Taupe.

We just took in this gorgeous Telecaster that was built as part of the International Series.  It's a cool piece of Fender's history.  Sahara Taupe was one of the more rare colors, so you don't see many of them out there with the original finish.  This one in particular has been kept whole, and all original.  It's in great condition too, especially considering that it's over 40 years old.  There are a few dings and normal player wear, but nothing major.  The neck is in great shape, with lots of life left in the frets.  The guitar has been vetted and setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop.  A hardshell case is included.

Since Fender used necks that were made in the late 70's, many of these are mistakenly thought to be from 1978 or 1979, due the serial number coding.  Or perhaps they just had an abundance of serialized decals that they slapped on fresh necks.  Anyway, confusion ensues years later when trying to decipher what year these guitars were made....but that's not what they were concerned about back then!  It also makes it hard to date the guitars.  So, we're going to say this one is from either 1980 or 1981.

We were pretty excited to see this guitar coming through the door, and will be said to see it going back out the door.  A Fender International Series Tele in Sahara Taupe is a rarity and who knows if we'll ever see one again!  So if this you thing, whether as a Fender collector or just a fan of unique and cool Teles, don't let it slip by.
