Pre Owned Matchless Thunderman 100 Bass Amp

In the recent history of bass amps, there aren't many that match the legendary status of the rare Matchless Thunderman 100.  This is a fliptop combo/cab is something that bass players salivate over.  We've seen very few over the years, and were excited to see this one make its way here.  While Matchless is known for guitar amps, their bass amps have always been highly regarded for the same reasons: high-quality with premium components, all tube, point to point, built to last, and all around amazing.

This Thunderman 100 is circa 1997 - 1998.  We actually checked with Phil Jamison at Matchless to confirm, and he verified that the serial number (C5376) fell into that timeframe.  He may even have been the one that built the amp.  It's all original, including the Eminence speaker, which Jamison stated was what they used on the Thunderman at that time.  It has been vetted and tested to perfect working order.  The condition is excellent, especially considering its age (about a quarter century now!)....no tears or dings, everything is intact, just minor wear.  Check out the photos to see closely.

It's a powerful amp - a full 100 watts of tube power, pumped through a 15" speaker.  Whether live or in studio, this amp is a great choice.  The control layout allows you to dial in your precise tone, via the Brilliance, Treble, Bass, Volume, Definition and Sensitivity knobs.  All of us bass players here played through this, and of us immediately said "I want it".
