Pre Owned 2020 PRS McCarty Blackgold Wrap With Adjustable Stoptail With OHSC

We just took in a sweet PRS McCarty - it's a 2020 build, from back when the world was somewhat normal, until it wasn't.  This one is a beauty.  First, for a bit of history....

In the late 1980s, Paul Reed Smith sought Ted McCarty’s expertise to guide guitar design and manufacturing methods. Beyond being a mentor, McCarty developed a close friendship with Paul and the entire PRS team. In 1994, PRS introduced the inaugural McCarty model, showcasing a blend of Ted’s invaluable insights alongside Paul’s own craftsmanship and experience.

This guitar captures PRS’s heritage while reflecting the classic era of guitars. This vintage-inspired instrument features a bound 22-fret Pattern neck, a slightly thicker body back to improve tone and sustain, and 58/15 LT treble and bass pickups refined through the TCI (tuned capacitance and inductance) process. It is equipped with a PRS adjustable stoptail bridge, alongside vintage-style tuners, underscoring its authentic vintage appeal.  The carved figured maple top over a mahogany body not just looks great but also provides classic tone.

The 58/15 LT pickups deliver a vintage-inspired sound characterized by outstanding clarity and a well-defined midrange. Combined with a push/pull tone control and a 3-way toggle switch, they offer a versatile range of tonal options for precise sound shaping.

This particular guitar came to us with the tuners having been swapped and then swapped back to the originals (so you marks from where the other tuners were).  The previous owner also had changed pickups but again, the originals were put back in (no marks or issues, just going with full disclosure here as we always do).  There are few dings on the body and headstock, as seen in the photos, so we've priced it accordingly, but overall the guitar is quite clean.  And looks beautiful of course.

The original hardshell case is included.  Setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop, this PRS McCarty is ready to go!
