Used 2024 Fender Custom Shop 1958 Stratocaster Journeyman Relic Faded Shell Pink with OHSC

Every now & then, a guitar that was here as a new one comes back around and is available again - that's what we have here.  It's a killer Fender Custom Shop 1958 Stratocaster, with a Journeyman Relic treatment, in the ultra cool color of Faded Shell Pink.  Built in 2024, it's like new, as the previous owner just got it earlier this year and barely played it before trading it in for a different Strat.  So, now it's available again, on a great deal.

Everything is original, with the original case, Certificate of Authenticity and everything else.  The techs in our shop have set it up to play perfectly and it's ready for its next home.

Ever since the Stratocaster came out in 1954, players everywhere have been drawn to the sound, feel and look of this legendary model.  Over the years, it evolved in many ways, but for many, it's all about the 50's era Strat.  And for some, the 1958 edition is "the one".  Why?  This Custom Shop '58 Strat right here might answer that.

 

The alder body is super lightweight and will fit snugly against your body.  This guitar is a great weight - just 7.2 lbs.  The lacquer finish with heavy checking on the Faded Shell Pink finish gives it a classic, old-school Fender vibe.  We chose the Journeyman Relic finish package, to give it the look & feel of a vintage Strat that has been thoroughly used, but not abused.  To further that idea, and to give it the most "broken in feel" we could get, we asked for the back of the neck to be given the Heavy Relic treatment.  We started doing this on a lot of guitars and fell in love with the combination. 

  

Speaking of the neck, we also went for something a little unique on this build - it's a Roasted Maple neck, which we feel matches the Shell Pink finish perfectly.  The 59 Esquire C shape is becoming more popular, as it's a similar carve to the the 60's Oval C seen on so many Custom Shop Strats, but with a little more "beef" to it.  If you're a fan of vintage necks shapes, this is a great way to go. Throughout the years, most players have gravitated towards a 9.5" radius and 6105 (narrow tall) frets - so those are the two tweaks that we made on this guitar.  As an added benefit, we specifically called for this one to have rolled fretboard edges, adding to the broken in feel.  For those that know it's the small details like this that make a Custom Shop guitar so special.

Custom Shop 50's Strat pickups give you the classic chime with enough sizzle to cut through the mix.  Fender has worked hard to craft these pickups to faithfully recreate the cutting tones reminiscent of 50's era Strat.  Alnico 5 magnets, vintage stagger and formvar wire add to the authentic sound.  If you want the most classic of Strat tones, this is it right here.  To add a bit of versatility to the guitar, we chose the Strat Blender wiring.  This allows allows you blend in the neck pickup when in positions 1 & 2, and to blend in the bridge pickup when in positions 4 & 5.  It's another like tweak that we're big fans of, as it adds to the menu of tonal options.

Other features include a 1-ply white pickguard, cream pickup covers and knobs, vintage tuners and bridge, and a wing string tree.  Comes with Custom Shop case, strap and certificate of authenticity.
