Seen only in late 1963-64 on the last of the "Tweed" Champs, this rare transitional model boasts original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth, while retaining the hallowed 5F1 circuit. Simple, elegant, and clean enough to satisfy collectors and serious players alike, this Pre-CBS Champ boasts a vintage tube set and original transformers. It doesn't get much more pure than the Champ, and this studio favorite delivers freakishly dynamic and glassy pure tube tone that can go from clean to fully saturated overdrive with a twist of the single knob.
