Vintage 1972 Fender Precision Bass Natural With Gig Bag

The sound hear around the world - that's what the Fender Precision Bass is.  It debuted in the early 50's, and by the early 70's it had evolved.  This one that we just took in was built in 1972, the year of Watergate, The Godfather and the debut of Steely Dan.  In the time since, it's gone through some changes, bullet pointed below.

This is a great vintage bass for players that want a player.  It's not for aficionados that crave an all original piece; it's aimed at those that want one to take out on the town to thrash around (or to softly groove on).  The first thing you'll notice is that there's no paint, so it's not a refin, it's a stripped body.  Then, you'll see that the hardware, pickguard and more have been replaced.  The pickup was replaced - from what we can tell, it's a Seymour Duncan, and sounds exactly like what you'd want out of a vintage P bass.  So, it's got the vibe and the sound, at a great price.

The bass is powerful, just as you'd want from a P bass, with the low end thump really present.  The neck is in good shape and very comfortable to play.  And, of course, it looks cool with the natural 70's vibe.

The original case is long gone, so we paired it with a gig bag.  For anyone wanting a killer P bass that has made it through over 50 years of use and is ready for another 50, this one is a great score!
